You can identify the deputy clerk responsible for your case by examining the case number of your appeal. All cases have two-digit numbers showing the calendar year the case was docketed, e.g., 23, 24, 25, etc. Following the two-digit case year number is a hyphen and then a five-digit number:
Northern District of Texas cases begin with "1," e.g., 25-10025;
Southern District of Texas (Houston) cases begin with the number "2," e.g., 25-20875;
Louisiana District Court cases begin with the number "3," e.g., 25-30154;
Southern District of Texas (non-Houston) and Eastern District of Texas cases begin with "4," e.g., 25-41002;
Western District of Texas cases begin with the number "5," e.g., 25-50881;
Mississippi District Court cases and most agency cases begin with the number "6," e.g., 25-60214.
Newly docketed death penalty cases begin with the number "7," e.g., 25-70010.
Newly miscellaneous cases begin with the number "9," e.g., 25-90102.
Compare the case number with the Case Management Team directory (see link below) to determine the deputy to contact.
