Request a Certificate of Good Standing
Request a Certificate of Good Standing confirming your membership in the bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Requests are submitted electronically through CM/ECF.
Effective June 24, 2019, the Fifth Circuit no longer accepts paper requests. All requests for Certificates of Good Standing must be submitted electronically, following the steps below.
How to Request
- Log in to CM/ECF. If you do not already have a CM/ECF e-filer account, you must register for one through PACER.
- From the Utilities menu, select Request Documents, then Certificate of Good Standing.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to upload any documents and submit payment at Pacer.gov.
- Upon successful completion of the payment process, a notice is automatically generated to the Fifth Circuit to fulfill your request.
- The Certificate of Good Standing will be sent to the email address on file in your CM/ECF e-filer account.
Certificates of Good Standing normally take one to two business days to process after a request is received.
